Classic Carriage Tours, Inc. Description
There's no activity that says "Charleston" like a tour in a horse-drawn carriage. Kids love the pageantry of the horses and the clip-clop of their hooves. Several carriage companies operate tours, but one of the most popular is Classic Carriage Tours, Inc. The driver narrates and answers questions as you're lead through Charleston's historic district. Kids see buildings that have survived over 200 years, such as the Old Exchange Building, where patriots were held during the Revolutionary War. A favorite with kids is Battery Park, where the "gentleman pirate" Stede Bonnet was hanged.
