Idlewild and SoakZone Description
This amusement park is a step back to a gentler time. Instead of thrill rides, it offers Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, where kids ride on a life-sized trolley and meet King Friday. Kids literally step through the pages of a book to enter Storybook Forest, where nursery rhymes and children's stories come to life. They climb aboard the Little Engine that Could, meet Mother Goose, and visit the Three Bears' cottage. The attractions in Olde Idlewild are a little more kinetic but still calm by today's standards, including a ride that would be a perfect first roller coaster for young kids.
Kid Tips
Babies: Strollers are available for rental at the front gate.
Toddlers & Pre-K: The "little kid" rides are at Raccoon Lodge. Kids must be able to walk in order to ride.
School-Age Kids: The Jumpin' Jungle is the spot for active kids, with a Tarzan swing, net climbing, big ball pit, and more. Kids 9 and up will enjoy the rides in Olde Idlewild and SoakZone, but will be bored by Storybook Forest and Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.
Pre-Teens & Teens: The park rides are geared for younger kids, but SoakZone will be a hit.
