Science & Nature Museum
Academy of Natural Sciences Description
Dinosaur fans will love Dinosaurs Galore, featuring a huge Tyrannosaurus Rex and dozens of skeletons and fossils, at this natural history museum. They'll want to get dirty in the Big Dig, where they can dig for fossils in a re-created field station. The Live Animal Center is home to over 100 live birds, mammals, reptiles, and invertebrates, where naturalists give fascinating demonstrations. The "Outside-In" model campsite lets younger kids see, feel, hear, and smell live turtles, mice, and snakes (all caged), plus explore man-made forests, ponds, and deserts.
Kid Tips
Babies: Even the littlest ones will enjoy a walk through the tropical garden in the butterfly exhibit. The Academy is stroller-friendly and all restrooms have changing tables.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Most of the exhibits will appeal to teens who enjoy nature.
