Amusement Park
Sesame Place Description
For "Sesame Street" fans, it doesn't get any better than Sesame Place, a theme park beyond the wildest imaginings of Elmo himself. Live shows and parades, amusement park rides, water features, costumed characters, and themed play areas make it easy to spend an entire day. Enjoy a meal with Big Bird, the Cookie Monster, and Elmo, create a personalized book to read again and again, then stop by the face-painting booth. Don't go home without choosing a family photo from one of the many specialty photo spots.
Kid Tips
Babies: Swim diapers are required in the water attractions. If you don't have any, you can buy them in the gift shops.
Toddlers & Pre-K: If you're going to see a parade, grab a spot about 30 minutes before the parade starts. For the best views, aim for the spot where the blue ground meets the black ground.
School-Age Kids: Look for Nets 'n Climbs -- a three-story climbing structure with hundreds of yards of cargo netting connected by 200 feet of suspended net tunnels.
Planning Notes
- Buy admission tickets online before your trip. That way you can skip the lines at the ticket counter and go straight to the park entrance. Also, if you do an Internet search for "sesame place promo code" before buying the tickets, you might find good discounts online.
- Bring a swimsuit, swim diapers, water shoes, and a towel. Although it isn't advertised as a water park, there are water rides galore. If you don't have water attire for the little ones, you'll have to pay gift-shop prices to get them.
- Bring cash. Some food and souvenir vendors don't accept credit cards. (ATMs are available at the park.)
- Consider a picnic. Coolers and picnics are not allowed inside the park. But if you pay for the Preferred Parking, there's a picnic-friendly park right next to it, so once inside Sesame Place you can avoid paying theme-park prices for snacks and lunch. Just be sure to get your hands stamped for in/out privileges.

Reviews of Sesame Place
sesame place is terrible
By dlrooney22 August 16, 2010
What we loved:
it sounded like a good idea
What we didn't love:
long lines, rude people, not enough rides for kids
The lines were incredibly long, the place is too small for the amount of people that were at the park. The price is absolutely too expensive for what it is. I will never go there again, I have 3 grandchildren, and it sounded like it would be so much fun. The play areas for the little ones were filthy dirty. The lines were terribly long. The prices for food were outrageous, and what you got to eat was terrible. $2.00 for a cupcake!!!!Are you serious. $9.00 for a hot dog & french fries. The hot dogs were cold! We stood in line for 20 minutes and there were only 2 families in front of us!!! It was a total waste of time & money. If I ever go back to an amusement park again, it will be Hershey Park or Dutch Wonderland. The heck with Sesame Place! What a ripoff!!!! For a itsy bitsy little doll, it cost $19.95, it should have been $5.00. Read More
Sesame Place Holiday Party

What we loved:
Great way to check out the park cheap & no crowds
What we didn't love:
Not many rides
Sesame Place Holiday Party. What a great day 60+ degrees and sunny. This was our first visit to Sesame Place, Ive heard so many negative comments about the park so we never wanted to visit. This morning I was looking for things to do since it was going to be a nice day. I came across Sesame Place Holiday Party only $9.95 pp. It was perfect they had shows, characters and a parade the kids played for hours on Nets n Climbs. Our son 4 has been asking to go to "Elmos World" for months he got to see the Sesame Street Friends without the crowds and of course we came home with a HUGE Cookie Monster.br/br/br/br/http://family.go.com/community/groups/you-me-and-disney-grp/br/br/br/br/br/ Read More
Sunny Day Guarantee
By flying_ace70 August 30, 2008
What we loved:
This place is all about little ones.
What we didn't love:
Long lines to get in park.
My only complaint was the wait to get into the park. We got there about an hour after the park opened trying to avoid some of the wait but the lines to get in were ridiculous even though we had purchased tickets on-line ahead.br/br/This is the first amusement park/water park Ive been able to say to my son "yes, you can go on anything you want". That was a wonderful feeling. He usually sees things he wants to go on at other parks but even with an adult is still to small to ride. He is 40", most of the rides required an adult but he still got to ride. The minimum to ride alone for most is 42".br/br/The ticket prices are a little high but if you buy them from the sesame place website they have Elmos Any 2 Day ticket which makes it worth the money and the best part is they have whats called the Sunny Day Guarantee. If it rains continuously on the day of your visit for an hour or more, Sesame Place will give you a free ticket to come back to the park another day during the current operating season. It doesnt get much better than that!br/br/We are going back for the Counts Halloween Spooktacular. Read More
