Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park Description
The excitement starts when you walk through the big castle façade into Dutch Wonderland. With about 30 rides, this meandering, shady park isn't overwhelmingly large, but there's plenty of fun for kids up to age 12. Mini-theaters throughout the park provide short, entertaining shows and skits that will excite kids and give parents a chance to sit for a bit. Kids will love the royal treatment -- you might even see the Dutch Wonderland Princess or Duke, who regularly appear at events and sometimes even wander the park doing meet-and-greets with children.
Kid Tips
Babies: Air-conditioned stations offer privacy and comfort for nursing mothers.
Toddlers & Pre-K: A selection of gentle attractions ensure that little ones can get equal time on the rides.
School-Age Kids: Great for younger grade-schoolers, since they can go on virtually any ride in the park.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Once they hit 10 or so, kids will probably be happier at Hershey Park.
Planning Notes
- Healthy food found here. Sure, you can gorge yourself on fudge and kettle corn, but the park's five eateries also offer healthy kid fare, such as poultry dogs, fresh fruit, and even fresh sushi from a nearby restaurant.
- Stroller rentals available. If you don't feel like dragging your stroller around, you can rent one here.
- Bring your bathing suits and towels. Dutch Wonderland has a small water park with slides and a giant soaking bucket. Great to cool off the kids on warm summer days.
- Check the schedule. Hours vary by season and month. During months where the hours are shorter, the park amps up its event schedule to provide added value, bringing in new characters and entertainment to please attendees.

We have be going to Dutch Wonderland for years. This is a great park for small children. Not for Teens so you should not run into crowds of them. Nice kiddie rides and awesome splash area. Interactive shows and story times. They also have Halloween and Christmas events. Read More
Pretty Decent, Good Bargain
By StJenna November 29, 2007 | Los Angeles, CA
What we loved:
Way cheaper than Hershey Park
What we didn't love:
A little on the slow side, but thats to be expected
Dutch Wonderland has come a long way since I first visited nearly 20 years ago. The coasters are bigger, the food is better, and its quite a bargain. You can buy a decent lunch that doesnt taste like sand without shelling out $40 for two adults and two kids. Its not Knoebels, but its a heck of a lot closer for my family. Read More
