Portland Saturday Market Description
It's called a Saturday market, but it happens on Saturdays and Sundays and is really more of a craft festival than just a run-of-the-mill market. Here you and your kids will find beautiful crafts by hundreds of Oregon artists (handmade baby bibs to creative wooden toys to pottery and musical instruments), impromptu street performers, great people-watching, and more. Even if you're not in the mood for shopping, plan a walk through the market to sample the ethnic delectables (Hawaiian, anyone?).

School-Age Kids: Your youngster will find a lot to like in the hundreds of craft booths.
Planning Notes
- Not for the winter. The Saturday Market shuts down during January and February, but starts back up again in March.
- Go early. If you want to avoid the crowds, go in the morning when the market first opens. If you're interested in people watching (you won't be disappointed -- Portland's a colorful place!), go around noon.
