Review for Astoria Aquatic Center

Oregon Coast

Good to know...The slide isn't always open!

Astoria Aquatic Center in Oregon Coast

What we didn't love:
We felt misled

When we saw the flier that read "Play swim from 1 - 8" we were like, "Great! That's perfect for us!" The picture showed a slide and a few really cool pools. Well, when we got there around 3:30, turns out one of the pools was closed for lessons and the other pool was taken up by 3 lanes which only fit two people at a time - and of course, were already taken. To top it off, the slide was only open from 7:15 - 8:00. My two year old was itching to get into the activity pool where only ONE person was being taught a lesson but was barked at by the life guard NOT to go in the pool. After about an hour of fighting her needs, we left disappointed and misled. The flier read "Play" swim, which to us meant, use of the pools cool parts to play. So for $10 you get HALF of the bigger lap pool, an over crowded jacuzzi (since nobody is allowed anywhere else) and a small kiddie pool. Then to top it off the slide is only open for 45 at night! Not worthit!
But maybe if we were given all the information up front, we would feel differently.
