Astoria Sunday Market Description

Almost 200 vendors sell everything from fresh produce and cut flowers to fun, whimsical art. Check out Astoria native Bill Dodge's booth of original art, magnets, and notecards, and don't miss the vendor who sells marshmallow guns (these are just what they sound like—guns that fire marshmallow ammunition). There's live music and a food court at the parking lot behind the Wells Fargo Bank with fresh berry lemonade and veggie-loaded tamales as well as all the requisite market fare: funnel cakes, kettle corn, and baked goods.

Kid Tips

Babies: Don't miss the Soft Toys booth and the handmade toys, quilts, and towels from Baby Stuff.

Pre-Teens & Teens: The bright stones and handmade jewelry will entice, as will all of the free samples (don't miss the local goat cheese and handmade meat sausage).

Planning Notes

  • Expect dogs. The market is pet friendly, and many patrons bring their four-legged friends along for the fun.
  • Shop downtown, too. Some of the retail outlets, including a popular local bookstore called Lucy's, make a point of being open during market hours.
  • Skip the stroller. The market gets crowded, and it can be difficult to navigate with a stroller.
  • Go early. Locals say the tastiest berries and produce sell out early in the day.
