Prom Bike & Hobby Shop Description
Get the family to show its pedal power by tooling around Seaside in a surrey, a wheeled contraption that seats up to eight people. It's a bit tricky to get the hang of, and definitely requires at least two adults or teens to propel along (little kids may have trouble reaching the pedals), but it's a great way for your family to experience the town, watch people, and have everyone watch (and envy) you. The best and most stylish way to check out Broadway and beyond.
Kid Tips
Babies: The shop also rents strollers if you forget yours.
Toddlers & Pre-K: The best spot for young ones to sit on a surrey is in the front between the grown-ups.
School-Age Kids: Even if they can barely reach the pedals, they'll love riding on the surrey.
Pre-Teens & Teens: This contraption is so cool that for once they won't mind being seen with mom and dad.
Planning Notes
- Helmets are provided. They aren't required, but the shop recommends they be worn while on the surrey.
- Prices vary. A small surrey rents for $15/hour, a medium for $25/hour, and a large for $36/hour.
- More than surreys. The shop also rents recumbent bikes for the beach ("funcycles"), tandems, roller skates, and electric scooters by the hour, day, or week.
- Wheel Fun Rentals. Surreys and other contraptions, slightly more expensively, are also available to rent at Wheel Fun Rentals.
