African Safari Wildlife Park Description

Take a drive through this sprawling park and get up close and personal with animals native to the African savannah. The animals (giraffes, zebras, water buffalo, and more) are used to being fed by park visitors, so they'll lumber right up and introduce themselves. (Unroll the window if you'd like to scratch a moose's nose.) Kids of all ages will delight in the petting zoo's pony and camel rides. After you've brushed yourself off and washed up, head to the Safari Grill for lunch and dessert (the hand-dipped ice cream is a show-stopper).

  • Zoo

  • Petting Zoo

Kid Tips

Toddlers & Pre-K: They'll love the petting zoo -- be sure to grab a picture of the pony ride.

Pre-Teens & Teens: Even hard-to-impress older kids will have to admit that having a giraffe stick its nose in your car is pretty exciting.

Planning Notes

  • Animals will put their heads in the car. If you don't want such a personal encounter, keep your windows up.
  • Miss something? Go around again. It's ok to take another turn if once wasn't enough.
  • It's open rain or shine. A little rain won't spoil your driving tour, but may put a damper on the petting zoo.

Just the Facts

Hours: Open daily from 10 a.m-5 p.m. (last car at 4) from June to August. Also open weekends in May, September, and October.

Fees: $10 - $20

Recommended Time: 1 to 2 hours

What we loved:
feed animals

What we didn't love:
small cages and too expensive

I took my sons to this drive through, it was a little expensive but we did anyway thinking our sons would enjoy this them being only 1 1/2 and 3 1/3 which they did my oldest feed a bison which was very neat and we saw giraffes and zebras. But when we went through the "zoo" are it was a different story it was very depressing. All the animals were in these almost looked like out door bird cages. They not really doing much except walling bath and forth or just sitting there looked very bored. I"m not sure if well take the drive through again but definitley will not go to their "zoo" again.
