Allan Memorial Art Museum Description
This museum may be on Main Street in a small college town in Ohio, but expect high- quality art to be on display. Small enough to tour quickly, the Allan Memorial Art Museum is a great visit for kids who feel a little art goes a long way. If paintings and sculpture aren't their style, head to the Frank Lloyd Wright house built in Wright's Usonian style. Much of the furniture is built right into the house -- including the beds!
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Some of the paintings of tortured saints might scare or worry little kids. Ask the gallery director which rooms parents with young kids should steer clear of.
Pre-Teens & Teens: The tortured saints that might worry toddlers will probably fascinate tweens and teens. They're in the rooms to the left of the door when you walk in.
Planning Notes
- Have a picnic in the park afterwards. There's one across the street that's just right for spreading a blanket and chowin' down.
- Bring your car. You'll need to drive to see the Frank Lloyd Wright house. Unless your kids are up for a fairly long walk, driving will be easier.
