Kalahari Water Park Resort Convention Center Description
The Kalahari is many things -- hotel, spa, and convention center -- but kids will want to go there for the massive indoor and outdoor water park. Slides range from the easy-going family ride Victoria Falls to the fantastically fast Zip Coaster. Grab a surfboard -- the FlowRider offers up the perfect waves, time after time. And climbers, waterfalls, and geysers add punch to every pool. On your way to the water park, be sure to check out the gorgeous artifacts displayed throughout the hotel. The Kalahari boasts the largest collection of African art in the Midwest.

Babies: Shallow pools and baby swings give even the smallest kids a thrill.

Planning Notes
- Healthful is easy. There's lots of fun food but there are healthful snacks available, too. And at prices that won't break your budget.
- No need to bring towels. There are plenty available on site.
- Game room ahoy. You'll walk through a tempting game room on the way to the water park. If you're not planning on spending money there, let the kids know beforehand to avoid arguments.
- Lifejackets are available. Pick them up at the guest services area near the Zip Coaster exit.
- Rent some quiet. Private cabanas and bungalows are right in the park and can be rented by the day. They offer widescreen televisions, iPod hook ups, refrigerators, and space to relax away from the crowd.
- The hotel is worth it. Wristbands to the water park come with the room so you'll actually save money if you stay on-site.
- Try the spa. Leave one adult with the kids while the other gets a massage, then switch places and everyone will be happy.
