Maritime Museum of Sandusky Description
Pirates on the Great Lakes? Who knew! They're just one of the things you'll learn about at this small, easily browsed museum. Other exhibits focus on ice fishing, the area's role in the Underground Railroad, the history of commercial fishing on Lake Erie, and the wetlands that support numerous plants and animals. This is all packed into a relatively small space, making it an especially pleasant attraction for kids ready for a little quiet time. Even the busiest toddlers will have fun with the displays, which have lots of buttons to press, and will get a kick out of "ice fishing" for little wooden fish.
