Paper Skyscraper Description
Quirky, surprising, and irreverent, Paper Skyscraper is not your typical card store. Although it has the city's best selection of cards and stationery, it boasts much more: books, home furnishings, jewelry, and very good chocolate. The draw for kids is found in the back left corner of the store—a strange mix of toys that will delight the silliest kids with selections such as a dashboard hula girl, a prank kit, wax lips, a wind-up tin duck riding a bike, and a pickle that yodels. Rover isn't forgotten either: look no further to find a fetch toy in the shape of a long tongue.
Kid Tips
Babies: If you like onesies with clever sayings (like "I'm not a boy" for a baby girl who is still bald) this is your place.
School-Age Kids: Besides the kids' section in the back left, check out the travel section toward the back right. There are magnetic games like tic-tac-toe and dominoes, as well as travel pillows for the drive home.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Young adults love this store because they're old enough to get the humor in the items in the adult sections, but young enough to still appreciate a set of gnarly fake teeth.
Planning Notes
- Lunch time rush. Paper Skyscraper shares a parking lot with the Thai Taste restaurant (a good choice for lunch or dinner) so the parking lot can get a little crowded around the noon hour.
- Nearby restaurants. In addition to Thai Taste, Paper Skyscraper is a couple of doors away from 300 East and is also close to Cajun Queen.
