Concord Mills Description
If your child is itching to spend that allowance, there's no better place to do it in North Carolina than Concord Mills. From trendy clothes outlets to giant gumballs in Candyworld to incense and hermit crabs (yes, both!) at Earthbound Trading Company, over 200 stores offer treats for all ages (there's even a Bose factory outlet for grown-up kids). If that's not enough excitement, compete against hoards of driver-wannabes at NASCAR SpeedPark, which has five go-cart tracks to challenge any speed demon. The best part of racing? According to one pumped-up boy, "Beating my brother."
Kid Tips
Babies: The mall has several name-brand children's clothes outlets, like Carter's and Osh Kosh, and they often have incredible sales.
Toddlers & Pre-K: They'll be most excited about the carousel in the middle of the food court.
School-Age Kids: Although geared toward younger kids, first and second graders will still have fun here -- particularly those who enjoy donning costumes for play in the castle.
Pre-Teens & Teens: The oval track of the mall and the numbered "neighborhoods" makes this an easy mall to navigate. Your teen might enjoy the freedom of shopping on their own and meeting up at the food court.
Planning Notes
- Check for races. On major race weekends the mall and surrounding roads are jammed with NASCAR fans. So check the schedule at Lowe's Motor Speedway before heading out.
- Coming Soon. A Great Wolf Lodge is scheduled to be built near Concord Mills in 2009. With its huge indoor and outdoor waterparks, this will officially be your kids' favorite place to stay.
