Tanglewood Nature Center Description
Animal lovers (and curious kids) will enjoy observing the 43 types of live animals on display at the Tanglewood Nature Center. Anyone who likes to be close to nature will relish the nine miles of trails that start here and take you throughout the valley. With its peaceful surroundings and dawn-to-dusk hours, it's a great alternative (or precursor) to nearby Harris Hill's constant excitement.
Kid Tips
Babies: Pack them in the frontpack carrier instead of the stroller for this walk.
School-Age Kids: Peering in on live snakes, peeking through binoculars at the pond below, or getting insider information on the frogs, turtles, and other critters that make their home along the trail will make this a memorable visit for little ones. Check the calendar of events online for details on tours and special event weekends.
Planning Notes
- Just feet, please. The hiking path is meant for hikers. Neither bikes nor inline skates are permitted.
