Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum Description
Imagine hearing the crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd at a Subway Series baseball game between the rival New York Mets and New York Yankees. Unless you've scored one of the hardest-to-come-by tickets in town, you're probably immersed in Madame Tussaud's "Ultimate Subway Series" exhibit. There is more to the wax museum than wax figures these days, but they are still the main draw (and for good reason). Browse everything (or is it everyone?) from American presidents to world leaders to historical personages, sports and entertainment stars to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" cast.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: At the gift shop, you can (for an extra fee, of course) make a wax model of your own hand.
Planning Notes
- Young ones may not like it. The museum says that it's suitable for kids 7 and up, but recent visitors warn that some of the waxy stuff can be spooky, so judge your child's scare factor before you go.
- Brush up on your singing. At an interactive "American Idol" area, you can perform for a wax Simon Cowell (and yes, he does "rate" your performance, and even rolls his eyes).
