South Pacific Description
The music of South Pacific will linger in your head for months after seeing the show. Winner of seven Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize, South Pacific is a Broadway classic set during World War II in the Pacific Islands that explores the theme of racial prejudice through two romantic relationships. Be ready for multiple standing ovations: A few times during the Rodgers and Hammerstein show, the stage recedes to show the brilliant players of the 30-piece orchestra—a real treat for kids who might be curious where the music comes from and what goes on down there in the "pit."
