New York City Fire Museum Description
Ever visit a museum with the kids and get asked questions that you can't answer? And all the tours seem geared to adults? The New York City Fire Museum is just the opposite. Housed in a renovated 1904 firehouse, parents just sort of follow along as their kids hang on every word of the tour guides -- all firefighters themselves.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Pick up the free coloring books on your way out -- the kids can occupy themselves back at the hotel and learn even more about firefighters.
Planning Notes
- Explore the neighborhood. Since you're already downtown, why not stick around and explore Soho and nearby Chinatown? Try the green tea or lychee ice cream at the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory (www.chinatownicecreamfactory.com) on Bayard Street.
