Toys "R" Us Description
A typical visitor report: "We were just passing through Times Square, when my child saw the Ferris wheel, and we had to go in." What? A Ferris wheel? In Times Square? Yes, at the giant Toys "R" Us store. The promise of a ride may draw the kids in from the street, but there's even more outsized fun inside: a 20-foot-high, 34-foot-long animatronic T-Rex and a two-story Barbie dollhouse for starters. Browsing this giant playground is a great way to beat the heat on a hot summer day or escape the brisk wind if you're visiting in winter.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: They will want to ride the Ferris wheel; be prepared to ride with any child who's younger than 7 or under 42 inches tall.
Planning Notes
- It's free, but you will spend money. If you are not in the frame of mind (or don't have the budget) for toy-buying, don't go inside. The selection is so extensive and the energy level so high, it's virtually impossible to leave without a slimmer wallet.
