Bobsled Rides at the Verizon Olympic Sports Complex Description
Suit up with a couple of drivers, get in a bobsled and go careening down the twisting, turning track at top speed. Sound crazy? A little. But, it's also a blast, a one-of-a-kind ride where you get to imagine what it's like to be in the games. At a half-mile long, the track is only a fraction of what the pros ride. But running up the wall on that last banked turn will leave no doubts that a half mile is plenty long.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: Some kids shorter than the 48-inch limit will be pained to miss out. Others might enjoy watching their sibs.
Planning Notes
- Cost effective. No doubt, this is a pricey one. But, many folks say the one-of-a-kind experience (albeit only a minute or so) was the thing that made their vacation.
- All seasons. Bobsleds run winter and summer. Word is that the winter ride is much smoother than the on-wheels version in warm weather.
- Time sensitive. Waits for the ride can be long. Arrive early (before opening) to buy tickets and snag your place in line. As an alternative, arrive near noon and try to be the first to get on line for the afternoon run after the track is serviced.
