Museum of International Folk Art Description
Like a trip to a huge global craft market, the Museum of International Folk Art has all the stuff you'll never see in Cost Plus or Pier 1 Imports. While Latin American craft traditions naturally predominate, there are masks from Africa, shrines from India, and intricate shadow puppets from Indonesia. Young children will be entranced by all the different types of dolls, toys, and puppets, while older kids will giggle over the outrageous hats and costumes and ogle the wilder examples of indigenous imagination.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: A book and toy lounge is stocked with great art books for kids, as well as puppets, a dollhouse, and other toys.
School-Age Kids: Make sure you stop in the gift shop so kids can have a folk-toy souvenir to take home.
Planning Notes
