Gillian's Description

The Gillian's attractions are toward the north end of the Ocean City boardwalk, which is like its own little city with movie theaters, shops, and eateries on one side and gorgeous pristine beach on the other. Gillian's has two parts -- the Wonderland amusement park, and Gillian's Island Water Park and miniature golf. Spend your daytime hours soaking up the sun and splashing in the water park since you can always play miniature golf at night. Kids love the festive atmosphere and the proximity allows them to dash back and forth between the beach and the rides.

Kid Tips

Toddlers & Pre-K: You'll want to kiss the person who designed the Wonderland Pier -- all of the toddler rides are grouped inside an open-air building, so you can relax in the shade, enjoying cool ocean breezes and a lovely view while your little one rides the carousel for the 87th time.

School-Age Kids: Rides are appropriate for all ages, so you'll find yourself with plenty to do. It's tough to get school-age kids off the boards without acquiring a hermit crab from one of the myriad shops that sell them.

Pre-Teens & Teens: A simple formula for awesome: Water slide. Roller coaster. Repeat.

Planning Notes

  • Bring your appetite. Splurge on great pizza, pretzels, and frozen custard. And if you've never had a gooey pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwich on a hard roll, you're in for a treat!
  • Weekdays are less crowded. Saturdays and Sundays get a little hectic on the boards.
  • Pace yourself. While you could probably do a little of everything in a few hours, you could easily spend a few days in this scenic, family-friendly town.
