Arethusa Falls Description
There's nothing like an intriguing natural wonder—in this case, New Hampshire's tallest waterfall—to get your kids on the march. Ages five and up can manage this trail, which winds steadily upward through lovely woods and alongside a stream for 1.3 miles to the 176-foot splash down, where the kids can cool their heels in the water. You can't help but marvel.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: The going is steep for toddlers, but preschoolers get a kick out of this big mountain experience. Be mindful of the edge at the top of the bluff.
School-Age Kids: Love to be like mom and dad and carry a pint-sized day pack with a snack, water bottle, extra layer of clothing, and . . . stuffed animal.
Planning Notes
- Be foot smart. Sturdy footwear is a must.
- Pack provisions. Bring plenty of snacks, water, and bug spray.
