Cirque du Soleil's "Mystère" Description

When it comes to evening entertainment, there is nothing better than Cirque du Soleil, which stages four permanent family-friendly shows in Las Vegas that are worth the splurge. One of them is "Mystère." This show is an acrobatic spectacle, combining the Montreal-based circus group's extravagant costumes, original music, physical feats, and hilarious clowning. Even young kids are spellbound by high-fliers on trapeze swings, gymnasts balancing on one hand, and twirling bungee jumpers, all comically relieved by the antics of misbehaving clowns.

Kid Tips

School-Age Kids: Kids 7 and up are spellbound by the visual and comedy-filled show.

Pre-Teens & Teens: Teens relate to the adult-mocking clowns, and are impressed by the strongman act and the choreographed pole climbers.

Planning Notes

  • There's more. Consider seeing one of the three other Cirque shows in town: "O" at Bellagio, which takes place in an on-stage pool; "Love" at the Mirage, which is themed to Beatles music; and "Kà" at MGM Grand, an epic with an astonishing revolving stage (the latter two are for more sophisticated show-goers). Children under 5 are admitted to "Mystère" only.
  • Get tickets well in advance. Shows regularly sell out and the only way to ensure you'll get tickets is to buy them before you book your airline tickets and hotel.
  • Avoid box office lines. Though open all afternoon, box office lines can be quite long. Pick up tickets at midday or have them mailed to you at home prior to your trip.
  • Snack freely. Refreshment counters sell popcorn, drinks, ice cream, and other goodies that you can take into the theaters.
