Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat Description
Five breeds of big cats -- including lions, leopards, and rare white tigers -- and frisky bottlenose dolphins cavort in this exotic zoo-aquarium hybrid run by magicians and former Vegas headliners Siegfried and Roy. The land and water habitats are kept separate, but the lush foliage manages to conjure the twin tropical environments. Exhibit signage and docents address animal biology and conservation, which make good fodder for family discussion. Unlike other dolphin habitats, there are no scheduled shows here, though trainers frequently have them perform jumps and flips.
Kid Tips
Babies: Big cats and acrobatic dolphins are engaging subjects for little eyes. Broad pathways are stroller-friendly.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Kids 13 and up love the trainer-for-a-day program, in which they spend the day learning to command and feed dolphins (approximately $550 per person).
Planning Notes
- Beat the heat. This exhibit is almost entirely outdoors, something to consider if visiting in the hot summer when it's best to arrive when it opens.
