Lion Habitat Description
The descendants of Leo -- the lion who roared at the opening of countless MGM films -- frolic in the middle of the MGM casino behind (very, very thick) floor-to-ceiling glass. It's a real thrill to be near them, especially when you walk in the glass tunnel that runs under the exhibit and there they are, walking above you. Questions about their care and feeding are answered by friendly docents.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Little kids love pressing their faces up against the glass (don't worry, it's expected) and seeing a paw over their head in the glass tunnel.
School-Age Kids: Most school-age kids love the immediacy of the lions and have lots of questions for the docents about the animals' ages, names, and appetites. The docents are eager to answer questions, so encourage kids to speak up.
Planning Notes
- Be patient. Everyone wants to be next to the glass, so you'll need to take your turn.
- Go at feeding time. Inquire with the docent about feeding times, when trainers press balls of ground meat on the glass, putting you face-to-tooth with the lion kings!
- Gift shop alert. If you and yours go weak for cute stuffed lions, plan to hit the gift shop located next to the Lion Habitat.
