Iyengar Yoga Description
Kids are cheerfully welcomed at the twice-daily Iyengar yoga classes, where no one is too big or too small, too stiff or too flexible (short attention spans are fine, too -- kids can come and go as they please during the class). Morning sessions invigorate and prepare for a day of adventure; evening sessions focus on relaxation and stretching after an active day, with special attention for muscles feeling the twinge from horseback riding. The wood-lined studio is restful and quiet, with lovely views of the forests and valley.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: The "come-and-go" atmosphere makes this a perfect introduction to yoga for little ones. Kids can stay as long as they're having fun, then stop by the poolside bar for a rewarding milkshake on their way out.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Older, more active kids with sore and tired muscles will love the gentle stretching and relaxation. If they've never tried yoga before, they may take a new hobby home with them.
Planning Notes
- Yoga clothes aren't necessary. Bring yoga pants if you like, but shorts or any other clothing that lets you move freely are just fine.
- Leave props behind. Clean mats and bolsters are provided.
- Wear swimsuits under yoga clothes. The hot tub is just outside the yoga studio.
- Kids-only yoga. Children can also join the 15-minute kids-only sessions that meet informally on the lawn of Beartown, where they stretch and bend their way through various animal poses.
