Star Clipper Description
Kids may be accustomed to getting their entertainment online, but you'll have a chance to introduce them to a good old-fashioned comic book shop at Star Clipper, much to the delight of both generations. Rather than the dark dungeon of comic nerds, the shop is bright and fun to browse through stacks devoted to classics from Archie and the Lone Ranger to Marvel and DC Comics series heroes like Spider-Man and Superman, respectively. You'll also find Japanese manga, t-shirts, and cool toys among the aisles to delight young shoppers.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: Young readers' gentle sensibilities are sated with many of the classic and reintroduced books such as the Lone Ranger.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Teens, especially boys, love to browse the often macho-themed illustrated books, but girls too appreciate the selection of modern comics, especially those from Japan.
Planning Notes
- Stroll the neighborhood. Star Clipper is one in a jumble of independent boutiques in the Loop neighborhood devoted to vintage clothes, skateboards, and music that warrant a walk about.
- Read while you wait. Queue up for a meal at Fitz's American Grill & Bottling Works with your purchases to pass the inevitable wait for a table.
