College Basketball Experience Description

The College Basketball Experience is aptly named -- when you enter, the energy, music, and bright lights evocative of a college basketball game pulse all around you. A full-sized court (and plenty of game balls) is located on the upper level, and at least a dozen different basketball-related challenges, from three-point shooting to free-throw drill games, add to the fun. Adjacent to the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame, parents and kids can get their game on and then browse exhibits dedicated to their favorite college teams, coaches, and players.

Kid Tips

Babies: The loud music that plays throughout might startle a wee one.

Toddlers & Pre-K: The lower level has a section just for kids ages 2 to 9, including a "Big Shot Ball," a giant-sized inflatable basketball and giant hoop.

Pre-Teens & Teens: Several exhibits are perfect for older kids, who can challenge parents to a free throw contest or try their hands at passing by tossing a basketball at bull's-eyes on the walls.

Planning Notes

Free under 5. Parents of small fries will be happy to know their aspiring shooters get in for free.
Snack lounge. Vending machines and seating are located on the main floor; there's no cafe or restaurant on site.
Bragging rights. Chalkboards are posted beside some of the games to allow winners to post their names and high scores during their visits.
Cameras welcome. Fun displays make great photos: college players with spaces for your kids' faces, as well as height, shoe size, and "wingspan" comparisons to real players' stats.
