Science City Description
Kids are immediately surrounded by several fun exhibits upon entering Science City's open-air warehouse environment that's designed to mimic a city. Let kids lead the way through the museum's two levels of hands-on, science-themed exhibits, including a Dino Lab, a Nature Center with live animals, a hotel filled with optical illusions at every turn, and a Train Spotter's Roost overlooking Union Station's busy train tracks. That's only a sampling of the things to do here, and nearly every exhibit is such a blast, kids won't even notice that they're learning a thing or two.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: In addition to the Half-Pint Science Exhibit that's limited to kids ages 3 to 6, little kids splash their way while building their own rivers on the water table. Music Park on the second level is a noisy hit, complete with foot-powered piano keys.
School-Age Kids: Kids can watch scientists clean and preserve dinosaur bones and then dig for fossils in real sand in the Dino Lab. The sewer pipe slide in the Public Works section on the main floor is another favorite with this age group.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Older kids accompanying younger siblings just might find themselves having a great time while learning something. The Mister E Hotel's optical illusions, including illustrations by M.C. Escher, are popular with teens.
