Branson Landing Fountains Description
Away from the bustle of the Branson strip, this open air riverside shopping complex features a combination of chain and local restaurants and stores, and one very impressive feature: the fountains. They dance intermittently throughout the day, but it's on the hour that the real spectacle takes place: With patriotic music blaring, the fountains blast water while fire shoots out of the huge cylinders, mesmerizing kids from 1 to 100. Between shows (you'll all want to see it more than once), shop at kid favorites like the Bass Pro Shop, Build-a-Bear Workshop, and RiderMakerz.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Shhh... don't tell them in advance about the fire; they'll be even more amazed if it's a surprise.
School-Age Kids: For a completely different viewing experience, watch the action from behind the fountains on the arched walkway.
Planning Notes
- Hot stuff. The fire cylinders pack a surprisingly warm punch and make a loud hiss when they go off (even kids inside the nearby restaurants can feel the heat through the glass), so keep those easily startled at a good distance.
- Stake your claim. For optimum viewing, arrive at least 15 minutes before the hourly show to get a good spot.
