Boat Ride
Branson Landing Cruises Description
Two boats -- the yacht-like Landing Princess and a paddle wheeler, the Lake Queen -- sail on Lake Taneycomo from downtown Branson to Mt. Branson, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner cruises that range from pizza feasts to country-style cooking. Both boats offer narrative tours including history and nature watching, as well as lakeside views of the fire and water fountain at Branson Landing.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: Bring along a pair of binoculars and a list of the animals they might see (bald eagle, night heron, coyote, fox, even a mink) for an on-board game of I Spy. The breakfast cruise and evening cruises closest to dusk offer the best opportunities to see wildlife.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Choose a cruise that departs or returns close to the top of the hour, when the fire and water fountain is at its most impressive.
Planning Notes
- Plan ahead. The cruises -- especially the pizza cruise aboard the paddle wheeler -- fill up well in advance in the summer and fall, so book ahead.
- Bundle up. The temperature on the water is 15-20 degrees cooler than on land -- refreshing in the humidity of summer, but chilly in other seasons.
