Review for Minnesota Zoo
What we loved:
The Bird Show
Our family loves the zoo and we have been members for years. I highly recommend a membership as the zoo has a lot of programs for kids and the membership pays for itself in about 2 visits. In addition with a membership we can go on a Saturday afternoon late and only spend an hour or so without worrying about how much it costs. This is a great way to avoid the crowds! The zoo has been undergoing some renovation for the last couple of years and so far they have done a great job. The new toddler play area is more centralized and a lot of fun for this age group. The new playground in the central plaza is a must stop spot every time we visit. The zoo continues to restore existing exhibits tropics trail and add new exhibits Russia trail so what could become boring remains fun to visit. I would highly recommend bringing your own food along as the food on site is very expensive. Dont miss the bird show either, particularly in the winter when it is inside. The auditorium is small enough to get a close look at the birds in the show and the zoo keeper is available after the show to answer questions. The zoo is open all year and is worth a visit in the winter. There are exhibits that are completely indoors and it is usually less crowded. The Russian trail is fun in the winter also as the animals are used to cold weather and just as active as they are in the summer except for the bears of cours I highly recommend the zoo any time of year for an afternoon of fun. Dont miss the bird show and dolphin show and take a ride in the train to get a birds eye view of the entire park.
