Crowds
We live in the Minneapolis area and are actually members at this fabulous museum. I love that there are two traveling exhibits that rotate through the museum so there is almost always something new to check out. I would say that this museum is really great for grade school aged children - kids older than about 10 will get bored easily. I would definitely plan on at least 2 hours, perhaps more to see everything. There are 3 floors of exhibits and when we visit my daughter spends about 20 to 30 minutes in each, about 3 hours each time. Dont miss the face painting and interactive programs that happen throughout the day. In the summer the rooftop park is a favorite as the sand they have for the kids to play in is soooo soft. My daughter does avoid the ant hill as it is a bit dark for her and she gets scared, but many other kids dont seem to have a problem with it. I would highly recommend this as a great place to visit for a rainy afternoon or wintry day. Take advantage of the pass to play program through local libraries if you happen to live in the Twin Cities. This allows 2 free passes and 4 additional people for 2$ each. It is a great way to save some money on the entrance fee. This museum has been a favorite in our family for many years now.
