"Fudgie Lane," the nickname that locals gave Sault Ste. Marie's tourist area due to the number of fudge shops that dot the street, is refreshingly unpretentious. That's because the street's kitsch factor isn't contrived: the shops have remained more or less the same for decades. Kids of all ages will enjoy browsing the selection of toys, knick-knacks, and souvenir items like hats, T-shirts, and sweatshirts. Keep an eye out for that perfect "yooper" keepsake as you sample some of the best fudge in the Midwest.
