Rainbow Lodge Canoeing Description

Ernest Hemingway named his famed "Big Two-Hearted River" after this Michigan beauty, itself named for its two equally-sized branches. It's more than 100 miles of free-flowing water, ideal for camping, canoeing, and fishing, especially in the spring when it's high trout season. For kids, there's a fun swinging suspension bridge near the mouth of the river. Rainbow Lodge has been hosting canoe trips for 30 years. Stay in one of their 35 rooms or cabins, and choose a canoe trip anywhere from 1.5 hours to a full day.
