Mackinac Island Carriage Tours Description
What child doesn't love being pulled behind the clip-clop of horses' feet? A sightseeing tour by horse-drawn carriage lets you see the whole island while you relax and enjoy the feeling of having stepped back in time.
The one-hour-and-45-minute tour of the island might seem long for restless little ones, but it includes stops at several key points, including the Surrey Hills Museum, Wings of Mackinac Butterfly Conservatory, Arch Rock, and Fort Mackinac Avenue of Flags. If you want to spend some time at one of these locations, you can hop off the tour and board a new carriage later (hold on to your ticket!)

Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: If you're afraid your little ones won't last nearly two hours, private tours are also available, and can be customized to fit your family's needs. Just call or visit the ticket office.
Planning Notes
- There is no set time for the tour. Purchase a ticket and wait for the next available carriage (they depart frequently).
- Be aware of your options. The stops at Arch Rock and the Grand Hotel are brief, and you won't be able to transfer between carriages at those particular stops. However, there is a horse-drawn taxi available in case you decide you'd like to stay longer (or you can always make the hike back.)
