Snorkeling Trip to Los Arcos Description
Snorkelers and divers worldwide know Los Arcos for the underwater caves beloved by exotic fish, who linger in the shadows there. A dramatic series of granite spires that thrust out of Banderas Bay, Los Arcos is surrounded by very deep water and is protected as an eco-reserve. The only problem is that it's very, very popular; at high seasons boats surround the rocks, waiting their turn to bring divers and snorkelers in. But that doesn't make it less worthwhile — there's a good reason everyone wants to snorkel here! .
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Even seen from a boat, the dramatic rock formations of Los Arcos and the Federally protected marine park that surrounds them are worth visiting.
Planning Notes
- Non-swimmers can still visit. If your kids are young or aren't experienced snorkelers, a glass-bottom boat tour is a great way to view the underwater rock formations of Los Arcos.
- Combine trips to save money. The water taxis that take you to Yelapa pass right by Los Arcos, so ask your driver beforehand if he plans to slow for good viewing. You can also join a combination adventure boat tour that includes both snorkeling at Los Arcos and a day trip to Yelapa.

What we loved:
all ages enjoyment!!!
We dont use this company but get Pedro who sells trips from behind Los Arcos Hotel in the mornings to rent us a boat for $75? for any amount of people for 2-3 hours. We have done this every year we go because even when the kids were babies, the boat trip would be a time for them to sleep. When they were toddlers, we would "feed Nemo". And as school-aged and teens, we got in the water with snorkels and got slapped with the fish tails. Read More
