Lighthouse at Gay Head Cliffs Description
The spectacle of a sunset paired with the "cool" factor of a lighthouse make this scenic landmark a family favorite. Excursions take visitors to a lonely slab of cliff where this 19th- century historic beacon continues to stand watch. A rare working lighthouse, the structure is maintained by modern-day keepers, who lead you inside and up to the top of the tower for a stunning view of the sun going down over the water. Tours run by the Martha's Vineyard Historical Society can also be scheduled for the East Chop and Edgartown lighthouses. This one, with its unencumbered views, stands unrivaled as the most spectacular.

Kid Tips
Babies: Infants are probably a little young for this, if only because you might have some difficulty carrying them up and down the structure.
