Green Briar Nature Center Description

Step into the world of famed children's writer Thornton Burgess and experience the life of his animal characters (Peter Rabbit, Reddy Fox, and Jimmy Skunk) first hand at this natural sanctuary—but watch out for the real-life Briar Patch! Numerous walking trails showcase the well-kept gardens and plant life over the center's 57 acres. Next door to the center is the Thornton Burgess Museum, located on historic Shawme Pond, where kids can play with toys and games related to Burgess' characters.
