First Encounter Beach Description
This beach's unusual name refers to a crucial moment in North American history: it's the place where the Pilgrims, aboard the ship Mayflower, met Native Americans for the very first time. Today people come to this site to recognize that moment, but mostly to hang out on the broad sand beach and play in the lazy, kid-friendly waves. Like all Bay-side beaches First Encounter is a family favorite, as frequent visits from the ice cream truck will attest.
