Ahoy! If your younger mateys dress up like pirates and play with a pirate ship in the tub, wait until they become part of a pirate ship crew. Once aboard this charming, colorful ship, they'll explore pirate maps, hoist up sunken treasure, see the crew shoot water cannons, have their faces painted, do the limbo, and listen to pirate yarns. "My kids loved it so much I had to buy black eye patches so they could keep reliving the fun," says one mom.
Kid Tips
Babies: One year and older only.
Toddlers & Pre-K: Older preschoolers will have a ball, especially if they don't mind loud noises or sudden surprises by pirates looking for booty.
Pre-Teens & Teens: The adventure is geared toward school-age kids, so save yourself the eye rolls and make alternate arrangements for older children.
Planning Notes
- Book in advance. Last-minute openings are available but rare.
- Arrive early. Allow at least 30 minutes to get settled before the ship sets sail.
- Check the weather. Ominous weather will dock the fun, so look at the forecast before you make your reservations. Book the outing for early in your stay in case the weather forces you to reschedule.
- Prepare for motion commotion. Ask your pediatrician if a motion-sickness tablet or seasick band is recommended for your child.
