Art's Dune Tours Description

There's something about the majestic, sweeping sand dunes in Provincetown that brings out the desire to four-wheel. But you can't ... at least not on your own. The lands are protected as part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, but Art's Dune Tours (whose access was grandfathered in) continues to showcase the stunning dunes from the comfort of an airconditioned Suburban. The highlight of the trip, besides enjoying the vastness of the whitewashed dunescape? Learning about inner dunes people -- artists and writers who either own dune shacks or who gained access through a lottery to work from the shacks.

Kid Tips

Babies: You can install your child's own car seat for the tour. If you have an extra car seat base, bring it along for simpler installation.

Toddlers & Pre-K: Go during the day, for the hour-long tour. Sunset tours don't get back until 7:30 p.m.

Pre-Teens & Teens: They'll love wheeling during the sunset tour and the clambake/BBQ option on the dunes, dude!

Planning Notes

  • Take a longer tour. Hour-long daylight tours or two-hour sunset tours are available with a clambake or BBQ option.
