Louisiana Children's Museum Description
Housed in a renovated brick warehouse about 20 minutes from the French Quarter, this award-winning kids' museum has endless fun for younger kids, but older kids will love the Fetch! challenge lab, where they can spin on the Gyrochair, explore why kites fly, why boats float, and find answers to other hands-on science questions.
Kid Tips
Babies: The enclosed First Adventures section is designed for kids 1-3.
Toddlers & Pre-K: Thursdays at 10 a.m. there's a special Toddler Time featuring a story, art project, and music.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Those with a creative bent will love the Art Trek area.
Planning Notes
- Check online for special programs. They hold regular art lessons, and every day at noon they have Dr. Seuss book readings.
- Bring snacks. Only vending machine snacks and drinks are available at the museum, so come well-fed or bring snacks. In-and-outs visits are allowed, so you can leave and go to a nearby restaurant, then come back.
