Hurricane Katrina Tour Description
If you want your kids to appreciate the full scope of what a natural disaster can do, nothing is going to make a lasting impression like viewing the levee breaches that led to the horrific destruction of Hurricane Katrina. The original and most comprehensive tour is offered by Tours by Isabelle. In addition to visiting the flood-ravaged 9th Ward and Lakeshore districts and the Superdome and Convention Center where refugees were housed, the tour includes in-depth explanations of how the levee system worked and visits other flooded areas such as Gentilly, New Orleans East, and St. Bernard Parish.
