New Orleans Museum of Art Description
NOMA, as it is called by locals, offers both permanent and visiting exhibits and has a spectacular collection of French and American art, particularly a group of works by Degas, who visited relatives in New Orleans in the 1870s and painted nearby. The Starting Point interactive exhibition is a great way to get kids thinking about where creativity comes from. If nothing else, stop by to see the recently reopened and justifiably famous five-acre Sculpture Garden on your way to or from the Carousel Gardens.

Kid Tips
Babies: Stick to a stroll through the sculpture garden, unless you're an art nut; not much here for little ones.
School-Age Kids: Kids will love the current exhibit, "Katrina through the eyes of children," open through the end of 2007.
