Historic Streetcar Ride Description
The famous streetcars of New Orleans are not only a fun way to view the city, they're an easy and convenient way to get to several of the spots your kids won't want to miss. You can take the St. Charles Avenue line to the Garden District or Audubon Zoo, or the riverfront line along the river connecting the French Quarter and attractions such as the Audubon Aquarium and the Riverboat Natchez.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: If active kids get bored, you can make a game out of looking at and describing the gorgeous historic houses, such as the one known as the "wedding cake house," one that looks like a castle, and one that's a replica of Tara in "Gone With the Wind."
Planning Notes
- Get a schedule. The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority's website lists the streetcars' schedules.
