Seadog Cruises Description
One of the best ways to see Chicago's world-famous architecture is by boat, either on Lake Michigan or the Chicago River. Seadog's River & Architecture Tour takes you from the lakefront, through the locks, and along the river in a 75-minute tour. You'll learn about famous landmarks, historical events, and fun facts about the city along the way. The Seadog speedboat is a sleeker, faster-moving option; 30-minute lake tours are also available. Boat tours also give the whole family a chance to take a break and rest weary feet.
Kid Tips
Babies: If you're hoping your little one will nap while you're on the boat, choose another tour line (there are plenty up and down Navy Pier). Both Seadog cruises go fast, and you may get wet, particularly if the water is choppy or if there's a breeze.
School-Age Kids: They'll love this thrilling alternative to more sedate boat tours. Both the 30- and 75-minute rides include a speedy zip along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Planning Notes
- Skip if you're very pregnant. Women in the later stages of pregnancy aren't allowed on the tour, and it's also not recommended if you have a bad neck, back or a heart condition.
- Savings ahoy. A cruise ticket entitles you to a discount coupon to the Amazing Chicago Funhouse Maze on Navy Pier.
