Fly Fishing With Silver Creek Outfitters Description
Kids and water are a natural combination. Kick it up a notch with a guided fly fishing trip for the entire family. Classes start with tying knots in a classroom and quickly progress on to the water in search of wild trout. Or just hit the rivers with your guide and hope for the best! Experienced, relaxed instructors make fishing fun, not intimidating, and kids will leave with a huge sense of accomplishment … and maybe even a picture of themselves holding a fish.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: Bring snacks! Guided trips can include lunch or dinner, but kids sometimes need a little more. For more formal instruction, the Youth Fly Fishing Class gives kids ages 7 to 12 hands-on experience with the fundamentals. Enrollment is limited, so call ahead for the current schedule.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Older kids with an interest in the sport will enjoy the adult Intro to Fly Fishing Class. Hugely popular, it covers all the basics, and gets you out in the water during the peak fishing season.
Planning Notes
- Each person older than 14 must have an Idaho fishing license. You can purchase licenses in person at Silver Creek, or online
- Guided tours are available year round, including winter. Some classes are scvheduled during specific seasons. See the Web site for more info.
- No need to bring your own rod. Rental equipment is available, including fly rods, waders, and wading shoes.
- Transportation is included. You're welcome to use your own car if you prefer.
